So we had a fun little adventure this weekend. We went up to the Skagit with some family and saw the thousands of Snow Geese and Swans. They come here for the winter and feed on the plant matter in the fields. It was AMAZING to see them all in one place. We didn't see any huge flocks flying, instead they landed and took off in small groups. They were very noisy. They sounded like an out of tune band.
If you look in the middle of this picture you can see a snow geese landing, I love the way his wings are wrapped in front of him and hes got his landing gear down!
This one found a potato to eat!
It was very impressive to see how much larger the Trumpeter Swans were than the Snow Geese.
You can see this Snow Geese has a band on his left leg.
It was fun to watch this little guy take a bath.
This was a fun little day trip that I hope to do again next year!
